| wow....I guess I haven't updated here in forever...
It's 2008. This is the year.
This year, I turn 18. (woah, and I started xanga @ like age 14)
This year, almost like half of OHA graduates...many of my close friends will leave and go on to college...
This year, I become a senior....really scary, yet most exciting thought...
This year...I will, I WILL learn how to drive (guess I said that last year too, huh?)
This year, I will get to see when Evan goes to school for his sophomore year.
This year, I get to watch God work in awesome and powerful ways, I get to see His hand leading in my life again. Last year was amazing...and so this year...wow....I'm excited. So much could happen this year! Jesus could come!....I want Him too. I'm sick of this earth. But until He comes... I'll keep pressing on, doing my best...and keep learning.
What will happen in your 2008?

| Life is good....Life in the mountains is better. For some reason, a few of my friends have a hard time believing me when I say that backpacking is "awesome". I guess the more primitive way of life.....doesn't settle well. I disagree. Sure, the ground is hard at first...and the pack's always heavy...but it can be the last thing on your mind...when you're enjoying God's creation. We have a 8 person group this year. My family of 6, Mark Jones, an old family friend and alumni backpacker with us in WY...and Buddy Summit. It was a fun group and a great trip. I would upload pictures...but my connection right now is really, really, slow... I'll be lucky if it will load this text. I'm in Fort Smith, AR. I arrive at OHA tomorrow morning.... lol. I'm sad that the summer is over. I feel a little caught off guard... Face another packed full school year? Only God knows how Elani will manage....definately with His help. It takes more energy that I have. Here's our group.
And here's me...on top of a pass near some of my favorite mountains. It's called the circ of the towers. It's an awesome place.
I shall have to say good bye! See you guys october break! Do email me.... I read them....even if I don't always have time to reply! | | |
| ...headed back to OHA. I've got mixed feelings about the whole summer work thing, but over all--I'm very happy the get the chance at overtime...though I'm going to miss my family. This morning is also a crammed shopping trip and family professional pictures....ahhh. I'll should update from school...but I'll probably fail to do so. | | |
| Morning dental appointment: I didn't expect to get the whole boat-load that I was headed for this morning...So much for peaceful teeth-cleaning visits and cute hygienists... Well, they were looking at some gum that I have over the
back of my "back-most lower" teeth....so they're like..."yeah, she
needs to come back some time and get that laser-ed off" I was like:
"sure, whatever....that gum is ...I'll come back...........some time.."
and then the dentist (who is actually my 2nd cousin.....My
dad's cousin...says: "well, my next appointment/person is running
late...I can do it now!"...so....what could I say? ...next thing I
know, I'm flat on my back again, in the dentist chair...and he's giving
me those lovely shots in both sides of my mouth to numb me up...then
some weird laser thing....and he puts on funny "sun-glasses" (which was
the one positive thing about it all....cause I started to laugh at him)
...30 minutes later...Elani can hardly talk...and has some raw
patches in the back of her mouth.....and pain/soreness, did I mention that? haha I have to admit, I gave the guy a little bit
of attitude. I'm sitting there, and when he finishes one side, he's
like "how is it?" I mumbled... "everyone loves the dentist"....and he
started to laugh. "ahhh, did you hear her?" he turned to his young
assistant. "Sarcasm" he smiled. Since he's my 2nd-cousin (even if I
don't ever see him, except for dental appointments), I guess I can joke
around a little, right?
my mom says I'm lucky that I stayed up last night talking to Christine and Karie.
